Staff
Kingswood Preschool is staffed by caring, nurturing teachers who are experienced in all areas of early childhood development. Teachers are certified and comply with all DCFS requirements. All teachers are CPR and First Aid certified.
Laura Kopka - Director and Teacher
Laura Kopka is the Director of Kingswood Preschool and is responsible for the curriculum and daily activities of the program. Laura also teaches the three and four year old morning classes. Laura has worked at Kingswood Preschool since 2002 and in the early childhood education industry since 1982. Laura obtained a Bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University in Child Development and Family Social Services with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.
Mary Ahlers - Teacher
Mary Ahlers teaches the three and four year old classes as well as the extended day program. Mary has worked at Kingswood Preschool since 2001. Mary obtained an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate and has earned her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Harper College.
Carolyn Ziemba - Teacher
Carolyn Ziemba teaches the three and four year old classes as well as the extended day program. Carolyn earned her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Ohio State University and has extensive experience working with children in the school system.Carolyn began working at Kingswood Preschool in the fall of 2010.
